To heal citizens who are tired from the lack of freedom due to the pandemic

The “MOA Museum of Art Exhibition Utagawa Hiroshige Exhibition” was held from May 22 – June 20, at the Nokogiriyama Museum of Art in Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Nokogiriyama Museum of Art’s opening. Forty-one of the “Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō” were exhibited. Many citizens enjoyed the detailed depictions of nature and weather, and the ukiyo-e prints depicting travelers on the road.
A total of 55 works depicting “Nihonbashi” in Edo (Tokyo), the departure point of the Tōkaidō, 53 post stations, and Kyoto, the arrival point, was exhibited. “Hakone / Lake Map” featuring steep mountains, “Goyu / Tabito Meonna” that humorously depicts the bargaining of the inn, and “Shono” where travelers go in heavy rain・ Shono ・ (Hakuu), a diary of the visit to Ise (Nokogiriyama Museum of Art collection) during the Edo period, multicolored woodblock (reprint, Tateyama City Museum collection) were also exhibited.

At a nearby commercial facility, a “Flower Experience” workshop was held in conjunction with the exhibition. Visitors stopped and chose a single flower and arranged it in a handmade vase and enjoyed the beauty of nature to their heart’s content.
