Abura-age (Fried Tofu) Gyoza Dumpling with a moderate amount of sugar

Replace the dumpling skin with fried tofu to reduce sugar. The juicy deep-fried tofu, which contains the umami of meat, has an excellent response to eating, and will satisfy your health consciousness, satisfaction, and stamina all at once.

Pork contains vitamin B1, which is essential for the metabolism of carbohydrates; and chives contain ingredients that improve the absorption of vitamin B1.

Pointers from Rie

  • Sushiage (square) fried tofu used to prepare inarizushi is recommended because it is thin, does not tear easily, and is easy to handle. Cut the rectangular abura-age in half before using.
  • Roll the chopsticks like a rolling pin several times before opening to prevent them from tearing.
  • Even if you don’t close the cut with a toothpick, the stickiness of the meat is enough to stick it together.
  • Just by replacing the dumpling skin with fried tofu, it is delicious and sugar-free (sugar per 100g / Gyoza skin 60.4g, fried tofu 0.5g).
