We would like to express our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the landslide disaster in the Izusan area of Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

　We pray and offer our deepest sympathies to those who died, and are continuing to pray for the progress of the rescue activities, for the victims, and for the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the affected areas.

 

　The Izusan area of Atami City, which was damaged, is continuing to have the “emergency safety assurance” (level 5) warning issued. The rescue activities are continuing in the area. Under these circumstances, we provided an area within the Zuiunkyô [land of auspicious clouds], including the parking lot of the MOA Museum of Art and Seminar Facility, as a countermeasure base for the police and fire departments and the Self-Defense Forces. We are trying to provide as much support as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

　The MOA Museum of Art was reopened on July 9.

 

　Due to the heavy rains in the Tokai and Kanto regions, many people have inquired about damages to the MOA facilities. Thanks to you, the Zuiunkyô in Atami City; the Shinsenkyô [land of eternal happiness], including the Hakone Museum of Art; and the Ôhito Zuisenkyô [health oasis], including the Oku-Atami Wellness Center, did not suffer from any major damages.
